WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED WITH ANTI WRINKLE INJECTIONS?
The appearance of frown lines is one of the classic signs of ageing.
Frown lines appear on the forehead, making them quite visible and potentially prominent
- Horizontal lines – run across the forehead between the eyebrows and the hairline (think Gordon Ramsey!)
- Vertical lines – run between the eyebrows, giving a person a “cross” look
For a proactive treatment, anti-wrinkle injections offer exceptional results. A few injections into the fine dynamic facial muscles which cause frown lines will minimise their activity, so that the skin drapes smoothly and appears younger and line-free.
This treatment can also be used as a preventative measure. While very early use of botox is somewhat controversial, certainly patients in their late 20’s and early 30’s can benefit from subtle botox injections to prevent the facial muscle movements and therefore delay the onset of lines and wrinkles; thereby staying younger-looking for longer.
Facial slimming is achieved by injecting muscle relaxant into the posterior masticatory muscle. The muscle relaxes and slowly regresses. This process leads to a loss of volume in the area of the lower jaw and makes the face appear slimmer.
The masseter reduction has not only aesthetic advantages, but also health benefits. Masseter reduction can reduce migraine attacks and teeth grinding, also called bruxism. In addition, harmful tooth clenching can be minimised.
MASSETER REDUCTION BENEFITS
✔️ Relaxation of the masticatory muscle
✔️ Narrower face shape
✔️ Health benefits: Reduction of teeth grinding and migraine attacks
Reduce the appearance of a “gummy smile” with a quick, safe and effective injectable treatment
Some people feel that when they smile they show too much of their gums, or that their gums are simply too prominent when they smile – this is often referred to as a ‘gummy smile’. Gummy Smile is a phenomenon that when some people smile, their upper lip elevates too far above their upper teeth, exposing gums and producing an unattractive smile.
One of the causes is a hyperactive muscle which elevates the upper lip. Occasionally, the gummy smile is also aggravated by a thin upper lip that further contributes to the problem by exposing the upper gum even more.
Fortunately, gummy smile can be simply and effectively corrected with Botulinum toxin (commonly known as Botox) injections to reduce the activity of the muscle that elevates the upper lip.
Hyperhidrosis is abnormally excessive sweating that’s not necessarily related to heat or exercise. You may sweat so much that it soaks through your clothes or drips off your hands.
Besides disrupting normal daily activities, this type of heavy sweating can cause social anxiety and embarrassment.
Botox injections are a new treatment option for people with hyperhidrosis. You may be a candidate for Botox if your sweating fails to improve with prescription antiperspirants. Botox has been FDA-approved for people who sweat excessively from their armpits.
The dimple is typically genetic in origin and can be primarily due to the shape of the underlying bone; as well as the muscles which ‘separate’ in the midline.
We can use fillers, to change the contour of the chin and reduce the appearance of the dimple.
Aesthetics is a personal choice and this patient didn’t like her chin dimple, so we used dermal filler to correct it.
Due to the depth, we needed to treat her over a couple of sessions
